Viking Camel Studio Recent Happenings

News June 2009!

Since we are dedicated to continually improving our facility, equipment, and skills, it seemed appropriate to let you in on what's new this past month!

Studio Improvments : We've drastically improved our control room with new sound treatment panels. The mixing and listening experience has totally been transformed! Not only that, our mixes improved instantly! The tracking room got a new paint job and some really sweet lighting too. Along with that, we've added some strategic sound paneling there as well. The room sounds even better than before! Expect an updated flock of studio pictures by the end of the month.

New Gear!!! : Just in -- We picked up 3 new microphones this month! We added another SM81 to the mic locker since we keep finding this to be such a wonder mic! For a small diaphram condensor, this thing is incredibly ubiquitious. These are Jeremy's favorite for acoustic guitars and snare drums (talk about a wide-open sound on snares!). Also, we purchased a new pair of KSM44 microphones. They're large diaphragm condensor microphones with superior clarity. Our aim was to get some honest, but larger-than-life sounding mics for recording vocals and drum overheads.
